CASABLANCA’S QUICK GROWTH AND ITS PROBLEMS
Casablanca grew chaotically and at a hectic pace during the XXth century, having the majority of its migrant population settled in slums or bidonvilles. The city, now the economic capital of the region, still holds the remnants of some of these bidonvilles and suffers the consequences of its uncontrolled and uneven growth.
