Intervention in one of the biggest slums that remain inside the city, in the popular district of Hay Mohammadi

A new vibrant urban scheme is to be built progressively replacing the informal settlement, offering new public spaces for the neighbourhood and in-situ housing for all slum-dwellers. Always respecting local logics, the new scheme is organized hierarchically as its inhabitant’s social structures, and aims to foster and empower the existing communities. A system of supports and separable elements allows every household to build customized houses according to their specific needs and particularities.
